The Ministry of Industry and Commerce of India released data on September 15 showing that after the sunset review of tariffs, India has imposed anti-dumping duties on several hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel products originating in 7 countries in Asia and Europe for another five years. The HS codes are 7208, 7211, 7225 and 7226 respectively.


The Iron and Steel Association of India initiated a review of these two products on March 31, 2021 on behalf of local steel companies (such as ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel, JSW Steel, JSW Coated Steel, and the Steel Authority of India).
Depending on the country of origin and the manufacturer, for products with a width of no more than 2100 mm and a thickness of no more than 25 mm, tariffs of US$478/ton and US$489/ton are imposed on South Korea, while tariffs of US$478/ton and US$489/ton are imposed on Brazil, China, Indonesia, and Japan. Tariffs of US$489/ton and Russia. For products with a width not exceeding 4950 mm and a thickness not exceeding 150 mm, Brazil, Indonesia, Japan, Russia and South Korea impose a unified tariff of US$561/ton. The initial tariff took effect on August 8, 2016, and will expire on August 8, 2021.
For alloy steel and non-alloy steel cold-rolled flat products, tariffs of US$576/ton are imposed on imports from China, Japan, South Korea and Ukraine. The initial tariff took effect on August 8, 2016, and expired on August 8, 2021. Product HS codes are 7209, 7211, 7225 and 7226. Does not include stainless steel, high-speed and silicon electrical steel.
