When the chrome-plated rod is subjected to external load movement, it continuously bears the action of the loop stress on the rolling surface or the ball. When the stress reaches a certain limit, fatigue damage occurs on the rolling surface, and a part of the surface produces scale-like peeling. This phenomenon is called surface spalling.
